TESA® Textile Tape for Carpets
Tesa 4934 is the double-sided fabric tape most often used by upholsterers and bag manufacturers when they want to bond foam to leather or thick fabric without leaving a trace. With its solvent-free synthetic rubber adhesive, it instantly bonds to rough surfaces and withstands high temperatures without coming apart. Its extra-thin thickness and ability to be cut by hand make it a favourite for quick laminates, seat covers and prototypes where the finish must be flawless.

Differences based on Use
- Thickness and volume: 4943 and 4934 are the thinnest → finishes where nothing is noticeable. 4964 and 4952 provide body and cushioning.
- Grip strength: 4934 and 4952/4964 have a stronger hold than 4943.
- Stretchability: Only 4952 reaches 300% → perfect for sharp curves.
- Robustness: 4964 wins in tensile strength → for parts that suffer stress.
- Adhesive type: 4934 and 4964 use rubber (more tack on uneven surfaces); 4952 and 4943 use acrylic (better ageing).
Applications
- 4934: Perfect when you need minimal thickness and high tack. Thin foam laminate with leather for seat covers, luxury bags or decorative cushions where the finish must be perfect and without relief.
- 4964: The most resistant. Reinforcement for carpets, vehicle carpeting, transport covers or shoe soles where the tape has to withstand tearing and constant weight.
- 4952: When you’re looking for real cushioning. Combination of thick foams with carpet in van panels, bus seats or hospitality cushions that need to flex without breaking.
- 4943: Ultra-thin for haute couture clothing. Layer fabrics and foams in bags, cases, fashion accessories or prototypes where any extra millimetre ruins the design.
